The Retiro´s Villa is a shanty town located in one of the areas of highest real estate value of Buenos Aires City, in Argentina.
Since its origin gone through different stages, some turbulents, related to the relocation of its inhabitants and the eradication of the settlement.
In the late 70s, during the dictatorship, a legal remedy allowed 32 families to resist forced eviction, a key instance to understand the growth of Retiro´s Villa in the mid-80s, when a new form of occupation of space developed through collective illegal land take-overs against the inaction of the authorities.
