The effects caused by the pollutants generated by the different human activities in the various groups of organisms are beginning to be studied. Especially in Colombia, there is no record that reports on the state of mesozooplanktonic organisms and the effects that microplastics are causing on them. The presence of microplastics in the mesozooplankton of the neritic zone of the municipality of San Antero is evaluated. The samples are collected in the rainy and dry season, in addition to being fixed in 70% alcohol. Observed under the stereoscope, microplastics are classified according to their shape, size, and colors. The percentage of microplastics in the mesozooplankton is determined. Data analysis is carried out for comparisons between the measured variables and they evaluate the possible impacts caused in these organisms. It is possible to demonstrate the entanglement of Calanoida, Cyclopoida, Decapoda and Diplostraca, between fibers. The presence of microplastics in the study area and these materials may be affecting mesozooplankton organisms
