The objective of this research was to determine the bioabsorption capacity of nitrates and phosphates with Chlorella vulgaris from the domestic wastewater of the middle basin of the Tunjuelito River of the Cantarrana Environmental Park, proposing it as an alternative for the reduction of nitrites, nitrates and phosphates in domestic wastewater; for this, the methodology was carried out which consisted of a characterization of the study area, collection of liquid samples from the river and solid samples from the river bank, isolation and identification of the microalgae Chlorella vulgaris, cell cultures and control bioassays such as bioabsorption. Finally, it was proven that Chlorella vulgaris had a bioabsorption of 100% nitrates, 66.8% phosphates, and a production of 2.19 mg/L of nitrites.
