FOCUS AND SCOPE

Agrarian Topics is a semi-annual publication, peer-reviewed by double-blind evaluators. Funded and edited by the University of Córdoba (Colombia). Its objective is to disseminate information and knowledge in science, technology, and innovation in the fields of Agricultural and Agri-Food Sciences. It accepts original research articles that have an impact on the agricultural sector at the regional, national, and international levels in specific topics such as: Plant Physiology, Plant Breeding, Plant Health, Crop Production and Postharvest, Soils, Water, Mechanization, Socioeconomics, Genetics, and Food Transformation, in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. It is primarily aimed at researchers and professionals from universities, research centers, and public and private institutes.

PUBLICATION FREQUENCY

Agrarian Topics has a semi-annual publication frequency, meaning two issues per volume per year.

First issue: January to June.

Second issue: July to December.

OPEN ACCESS POLICY

This journal provides immediate free access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

ARTICLE PROCESSING CHARGES

Agrarian Topics does not charge a fee for the processing and publication of articles (Article Processing Charge [APC]). No fee is charged for the submission of manuscripts either.

ANTI-PLAGIARISM

The Agrarian Topics journal declares its commitment to the respect and integrity of the works published. For this reason, texts identified as plagiarism or containing fraudulent content will be removed or not published in the journal. By accepting the terms and agreements expressed by our journal, the authors must guarantee that the article and the materials associated with it are original and do not infringe copyright. Received scientific contributions are verified with the Ithenticate tool, which is a plagiarism detection software that checks the similarity percentages of similar and published works online (word, phrase, and/or paragraph count from other texts). Authors must also justify that, in the case of shared authorship, there was full consensus from all authors and that it has not been presented or published previously in another medium.

COPYRIGHT

The editor authorizes copying and redistributing the material in any medium or format, remixing, transforming, and building upon the material, as long as credit is clearly and properly given to the journal, the author(s), the year, the article title, volume, number, page(s), and DOI of the consulted manuscript. Additionally, the material cannot be used for commercial purposes. This is in accordance with the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial CC BY-NC License.

Authors maintain these rights: evaluations of their articles will be fair and impartial, the review will be conducted by experts in the subject, confidentiality will be maintained, and suggestions for changes and corrections will be clear and explicit according to the evaluators' comments. The original article will always remain as submitted.

DIGITAL PRESERVATION AND ARCHIVING

Agrarian Topics is committed to ensuring the preservation, restoration, and recovery of its content. To achieve this goal, we have implemented a digital archive preservation policy that incorporates the following actions:

  • Assignment of DOI to each article
  • Copy in the institutional repository
  • Electronic and physical backups
  • Digital preservation metadata

Additionally, we use the Open Journal Systems (OJS) editorial management system, which integrates the PKP-PN (PKP Preservation Network) tool to ensure content preservation through LOCKSS services. Published files are available in PDF, HTML, and XML-JATS formats, and we also have storage in national and international databases and repositories.
