The purpose was to estimate the agronomic response, genotype x semester (G x S) interaction and standard heterosis (HU) for plant yield (RFP), number of fruits plant-1 (NFP) and fruit weight (PPF) in seven experimental hybrids of pumpkin and their eight parents, during the 2003B and 2004A semesters. A complete randomized design with five replicates per treatment was used. Statistical differences (Pr<0.05 or Pr><0.01) occurred between semesters for RFP and PPF. The genotypes showed significant differences (Pr><0.01) for the tree characters. The interaction G x S did not show significant differences for the tree>< 0.05 or Pr< 0.01) occurred between semesters for RFP and PPF. The genotypes showed significant differences (Pr< 0.01) for the tree characters. The interaction G x S did not show significant differences for the tree characters. During 2003B semester occurred the best environmental conditions for the expression of RFP and PPF. Hybrids LBV x LA126, LSO x LA34, LBV x LA34 were superior to the control ‘Bolo Verde’ (BV: 17.7 kg plant-1) in RFP with values of 24.9, 24.3 and 11.3% HU respectively. The LBV x LA34 hybrid showed better response than the control ‘Bolo Verde’ with respect to the main agronomic characters, which makes it a good candidate to improve production of fresh fruit for the interior market of Colombia
